Zetron Corporation designs and manufactures municipal and rural emergency-response systems. They asked me to edit a case study about an installation of their new MAX Call-Taking system for Cook County (which includes the city of Chicago).
I was able to suggest a number of changes to the content structure, resulting in a more readable, scannable piece. I also found several grammatical redundancies and minor misuses of words—things that had been missed by several writers and editors.Read more →

CD jacket design for Heart of the Earth (Liz Kohlenberg and Judith Gottlieb). Click for a larger version.
I was hired to design the package for this CD. Liz Kohlenberg and Judith Gottlieb (sisters) had decided to record an expertly-produced album of songs they’d written about their family and lives. It was important that the packaging convey the scope of the songs as well as the significance of the project itself.
For the front of the jacket, we used a painting by Liz’s daughter, Leah. I extrapolated the print color theme from there.

These frogs are creating audio samples—regular measurements of a sound wave’s volume over time.
Both high-tech professionals and lay people tend to confuse the terms and concepts of internet audio, which is digital in nature.
I used interactive Flash animation and an audio voice-over to demystify this highly technical subject and make it understandable to both geeks and non-geeks.
